Scorers for Rumney : Craig Hill try, Nathan Trevett try, Graham Burke try, Michael Thomas 2 tries and 3 conversions and 1 penalty
Michael Feneck, Captain Rumney Youth : "The forwards were outstanding, the back row of Carl Barker, Craig Hill and Chrissy Jones was superb, the backs were fired up by Michael Thomas and powered through by Paul Nibblet."
Michael Thomas, Rumney Youth : "This was a great all round performance with the players knowing exactly what they had to do before they went out and it was good to see the joy on their faces when the final whistle blew. Every single player was outstanding and contributed immensely to the victory, the two youngsters Nathan Trevett and Gareth Bowen were brilliant, there were twenty two Men of the Match ! "
Chris Jones, Rumney Youth : "A fast, running game with the forwards playing better than in recent matches. The backs played very well too with Michael Thomas at the helm."
Ryan Sutton, Rumney Youth : "A good game, I enjoyed it. We controlled most of the play well and kept good discipline. Chris Jones and Carl Barker had excellent games and the backs got some fine moves going."

Scorers for Rumney : Michael Thomas try and penalty and conversion, Mike O'Neil try
Scorers for Rumney : Chris Jones try, Charlie Velasco try, Richard Merrett try
Ian Coughlin, Rumney RFC : "A below par performance really, 'though the tries were all well worked - one was a charge down by Chris Jones, Charlie Velasco's was a pushover try and and Richard Merrett powered over from a set piece for his."
Scorers for Rumney : A.Jones 2 tries, P.Nibblet try. G.Thomas try, M.Feneck try, G.Bowen try, G.Burke 2 tries, M.Thomas try and drop goal and 1 penalty and 2 conversions
Ian Coughlin, Rumney RFC : "A great all round performance but the forwards tore the opposition apart. Everybody in the Rumney side played well and Ryan Sutton and Rhysclive Williams had excellent games."
Ryan Sutton, Rumney Youth : "We dominated most of the game, particularly in the forwards. The backs had some some good moves on and the tries just had to come. Martin Young played particularly well today."

Scorer for Rumney : Michael Thomas penalty
Ian Coughlin, Rumney RFC : "A hard fought game. Rumney tackled well against a big, stong, well organised Cardiff side The boys put up a good performance and their heads did not drop at all - they did well in a very hard game."
Scorers for Rumney : Charlie Velasio try, Chris Jones try, Michael Thomas try and penalty
Steve Ford, Rumney RFC : "This was our first game in five weeks and it certainly showed. We were playing rugby off the back foot until, with fifteen minutes to go, it finally came together and we scored some good tries. We were ring rusty but it was a good win which keeps us in third position in the table with a home game against Cardiff Youth next week. At present that makes us the third best team in Wales !"
Scorers for Rumney : Christopher Jones try, Graham Burke try, Michael Thomas conversion
Ian Coughlin, Rumney RFC : "A very good game considering the conditions. Chris Jones was quick off the mark to grab the first try after strong rucking and mauling by the Rumney forwards and Graham Burke scored the second try following up a kick and chase. Rumney handled very well in the torrential rain."
Scorers for Rumney Youth : Wayne Storey try, Michael Thomas penalty and drop goal
Ian Coughlin, Rumney RFC : "A difficult game but overall it was a convincing win. It was a hard game too, played at 100 mph and it was always going to be close. The Rumney pack was dominant and the defence was outstanding, fifteen man rugby, big time! Wayne Storey's contribution was immense and Michael Thomas and Gareth Thomas had excellent games."
Gareth Thomas, Rumney Youth : "This was a good hard game with both sides exerting pressure for long periods. We won it in the forwards where our pack's extra pace gave us an advantage at the breakdowns. Wayne Storey's try came from a line out which led to a ruck and from there I made a break but was tackled five metres out, Wayne gathered the ball and scored. Llandovery came back very strongly at the end but our defence was outstanding."
Dai Thomas, Coach Rumney Youth : "We were well beaten by a good Merthyr side. For Rumney Gareth Thomas played well at centre and outside half and Paul Niblett and Craig Hill also put in very good performances."
Scorers for Rumney : Michael O'Neil try, Paul Nibblet try
Cyril Locke, Rumney Youth Committee : "A very good win. It was tight from the whistle but Michael O'Neil scored an opportunist try for Rumney in the first twenty minutes and the only other score in the first half was a Llanharan penalty goal. We were against the wind in the second half but Paul Niblett scored a try and the last fifteen minutes of the game saw Llanharan camped on the Rumney line and being urged on by the big home crowd ! Under Michael Feneck's captaincy the boys defended superbly and kept them out to gain a fine victory."
Andrew Jones, Rumney Youth : "We started slowly but on his return captain Michael Feneck led the forwards well and we dominated the rucks and mauls. The backs had space to run but at first were unable to capitalise on it. Michael O'Neil put in an excellent performance and scored our first try. We were under pressure in the second half but still controlled the game and when Paul Niblett and Michael Feneck linked up in one movement it led to a superbly worked try. As usual Neil Hedges played amazingly well and it was a good return game for Andrew Jones after his hernia operation."
Dave Hale, Rumney RFC : "It was really a very even game. Aberavon were only 3 - 0 up when there was a clear knock on from which they scored a converted try. They were much bigger than Rumney and in the end they scored two late, forward orientated tries."
Scorers for Rumney : Carl Barker try, Craig Hill try, Gareth Thomas try and 3 conversions
Colin Willis, Rumney RFC : "Rumney fielded a side which was affected by calls on players for college fixtures and were at first quite unsettled. We went 3 - 0 down but weathered the storm for a half time score of 7 - 3. After the interval the boys really got their heads down and created a series of driving mauls and some very good passing movements. Paddy O'Neill controlled things from outside half with fine tactical kicking and Rumney scored two more tries, both converted by Gareth Thomas."
Chris Coles, Captain Rumney Youth : "Not a performance we would wish to remember. The team stuck at it in a difficult and very frustrating game. Craig Hill played particularly well but on the whole this was a below par performance."

Mike Barker, Rumney RFC : "A very gutsy first half performance from Rumney Youth and an excellent opening try following a powerful forward drive. It is hard to defend against a side which contains so many very big players.Cardiff were very physical and fielded their strongest team by including their FIRA squad members. Rumney did extremely well to contain them and we look forward to the return game."

Scorer for Rumney : Chris Coles try
Michael Feneck, Rumney Youth : "The Rumney backs played very well, especially considering the conditions. Captain for the day Chris Coles had a very good game and linked well with our explosive winger Andy Jones ! The forwards played out of their skins in the second half and the score does not really reflect how good Rumney were."
Nathan Paul, Rumney Youth : "It was a close game. We fielded an all new front row and that affected things but the backs kept us in the game, especially when influential substitute Michael Thomas came on at outside half."

Scorers for Rumney : N.Hedges try, C.Coles try, A.Jones conversion and penalty
Colin Willis, Rumney RFC : "An exciting game between two good sides. Rumney were hitting so hard in the tackles that Llandovery were often driven backwards. We were going forward all the time and in the second half it really came together. Rumney scored a try to consolidate the lead even though we had one player in the sin bin at the time. Our forceful tackling in the first twenty minutes led to the victory and Rumney were worthy winners. Carl Barker was tremendous at Number 8 and Gareth Thomas was on top form. Captain Michael Feneck lead from the front and the hard tackling of Chris Coles and Paul Nibblet was outstanding. The wingers fell back and did some excellent covering work too, the whole team played well. We still made some fundamental mistakes but this was a very good result."
Scorers for Rumney : Gareth Nibblet try, Andrew Jones try and conversion, Matthew Woodfield try and conversion, Gareth Thomas try, Ryan Sutton try, Graham Burke 2 tries, Craig Hill 3 tries, Matthew Miller try
Jim O'Brien, Rumney RFC : "We fielded a young but very strong side - there were ten under seventeen players in the Rumney team today. There was very good discipline and outstanding performances from Craig Hill, Graham Burke and Gareth Thomas."
Scorers for Rumney : Graham Burke try, Craig Hill try, Matthew Whitfield try, Ryan Sutton try, Andy Jones 2 conversions
Ian Coughlin, Rumney RFC : "A poor game with passive scrums after Rumney had taken the first two scrums against the head. It was a scrappy game too but the boys stuck to it and after the brilliance of Tuesday's performance against the Welsh President's XV it was back to basics today. Once passive scrums were introduced we could no longer make the most of our powerful platform up front."

Scorers for Welsh President's XV : Matthew O'Neil try, Richard Burns conversion
In a fast, open game at Riverside Park, Rumney Youth defeated the Welsh President's Youth XV with a late try by left winger Matthew Miller.
The President's XV had led through a try scored by Penarth's Matthew O'Neil and converted by Ebbw Vale's Richard Burns. Rumney had been kept in touch by a Mike O'Neil penalty and as the game progressed the home side's pack, led superbly by hooker Michael Feneck, took control of the forward encounters. The Rumney back row of Craig Hill, Neil Hedges and Carl Barker was outstanding and disrupted the visitors' attacks with decisive tackles.
The Rumney backs were also positive in defence and late in the game, with their pack taking the ball upfield, showed their attacking skills when quick release led to the flowing three quarter movement that put Miller over for the winning try. Andy Jones converted.
The game, sponsored by Leckwith Engineering, was part of Rumney's Golden Anniversary celebrations and was an excellent advertisement for the high levels of skill found in youth rugby in Wales.

Scorers for Rumney : G.Burke try, M.Feneck try, M.O'Neil try, R.Sutton try, M.Miller try
Chris Coles, Rumney Youth : "The Rumney forwards, led by Michael Feneck, started very strongly and performed well throughout, with Graham Burke having an outstanding game and Neil Hedges stepping into the front row and also playing excellently. Our midfield were superb in attack and defence but the loss of Michael Thomas with a dislocated shoulder is a big blow to us. The Rumney scrummaging was very strong and it was a good all round performance. Man of the Match, Michael O'Neil."
Scorers for Rumney : Graham Burke try, Chris Coles try
Dai Thomas,Coach Rumney Youth : "The worst Rumney Youth performance so far this season. All credit to Michael Thomas - when he came on the game changed but it was a disappointing result."
Scorers for Rumney : Gareth Thomas try, Paul Nibblet try, Michael Thomas conversion
Dai Thomas, Coach Rumney Youth : "Rumney played very well against against a much bigger Swansea side, all but one of whom will be playing senior rugby next season. It was a good performance."

Cyril Locke, Rumney RFC : "A good, hard fought game with Rumney's front eight playing well and the backs solid in defence. Michael Thomas's try came from a blindside break and Nathan Paul's was from a forward drive. In the last five minutes we were awarded a penalty near their twenty two and Michael secured the game with that successful kick."
Michael Feneck, Captain Rumney Youth : "We made very hard work of it. The forwards were on top in the scrummages and mauls but the backs made the difference with their running from deep positions. There was a scrum on the Aberavon line and when they put the ball in we pushed them off - they dived in, so it had to be a penalty try and that's what turned the game."
