Shaun Lee,
Coach Rumney RFC 1st XV : "This game proved to be a worthy exercise, giving
us the chance to look at players in a match condition. The game
was played with great intensity and I am sure both teams benefitted
from it. I was pleased with our performance, some good passages
of play were put together, there are areas that we need to look
at and they will be addressed.
The first half was dominated
by the Rumney side and four good tries were scored. We made wholesale
changes at half time to enable players to have an equal opportunity
to express themselves. The second period was a much tighter affair
but the Rumney players worked very hard for each other and showed
great character and scored a very good try.
I would like to thank Stourbridge for paying us this visit and would hope that we can return the fixture next season and I wish them well for the coming season."
Jim O'Brien, Rumney RFC : "This was a good workout for both sides. We dominated Stourbridge in the first half but they came back and had the better of the second half. There were more positives than negatives for Rumney and the game will have given the coaches a good indication of which players have the strongest claims for a first team position."

My name is Ian Smith, an ex-rugby player from the 60's and early 70's in the UK. I played for Scotland a few times at full back. In trying to get in touch with old rugby playing friends, I realised there was no platform to help me to do this. I have opened a website www.exrugbyplayersreunited.com to help other ex players to contact each other. Early responses are very good, and there is obviously a demand for such a service. I have contacted you because I believe you might be able to help 'spread the word'.
Registration is free, searching is free, and email addresses are kept confidential. There are spaces to enter every team played for, and also a database to list old rugby playing friends who you have lost touch with through the mists of time.
I know this site will work and supply an
invaluable service, to many former players. It obviously needs
lots of entries, the more it gets, the better it becomes.
I hope you will feel able to help.
Yours sincerely
Ian SG Smith
