The writing was on the wall as early as the third minute when Llanharan scrum half Jonathan Hooper put wing Richard Radford in for the opening try of a game which was to see The Dairymen score a total of ten tries in what was by far their biggest ever win over Rumney. It was not long before John Stenner stretched the lead with a try, the visitors' only score coming shortly afterwards from a Chris Day penalty when Llanharan centre Nicky Morgan was sinbinned for persistent infringement. Outstanding handling by Llanharan made it an entertaining game and excellent interplay led to a try by Matthew Rowlands. In the opening half Rumney had put up stern resistance and at the interval the score was a respectable 17 - 3 but after the break Llanharan took complete charge and ran in a further seven tries.

Shaun Lee, Coach Rumney RFC 1st XV : "In the first half we competed well but Llanharan were far too powerful. They played a lot of attractive rugby while we struggled to live off scraps."

Dennis John, Coach Llanharan RFC 1st XV : "I was delighted with our performance. We played a lot of decent rugby out there."
