Scorers for Rumney : G.Harrington try, C.Wills try, M.Addis try

This encounter boasted nine tries but there were only two in the first half, one from Quins scrum half Steve Wake and the other from Rumney lock Grant Harrington. Carmarthen full back Gareth King started the second half try spree, his entry into the three quarter line and long range counter attacks caused major problems for the home side's defences, eventually leading to his crashing over for a well taken touchdown. Quins flanker Stuart Jenkins scored a third try, wing forward Gareth Williams outpaced the cover to score his side's fourth, and winger Nick Jones added the fifth after a break by Danzi Niblo. Quins scrum half Emyr Jones scored his side's final try but Rumney never gave up and scored two excellent late tries, a spectacular long range solo effort from captain Christian Wills and a Mark Addis special following a brilliant handling movement.

Dave Escott, Rugby Secretary Rumney RFC : "Carmarthen looked a far fitter side than Rumney and their defence was outstanding especially when they were down to thirteen men. Rumney were let down by poor tackling and the Quins giant second rows Paul Arnold and Paul Matthews supplied their backs with excellent possession, but it was pleasing to see so many of our second fifteen players being brought in, and it shows that we have strength there and things should be looking well for next season. The Man of the Match was Dean Simons."
