Scorers for Rumney : M.Addis try, N.Coles try, T.Price penalty and conversion

Everyone at Riverside Park was taken by surprise as Llanharan enjoyed a dream start to this game and took a very early lead when turnover possession led to a gift try for Paul Morgan which the centre also converted. Rumney hit back with what proved to be the best try of the match as an excellent passing movement by back row partners Andrew Grabham and Matthew Wood resulted in flanker Neil Coles crossing under the sticks. Outside half Tommy Price converted and also kicked a penalty, then immediately after the interval full back Mark Addis completed another flowing movement by crossing for a further try to strengthen Rumney's lead.

The home side seemed firmly in control but when prop James Harris was sent to the bin for failing to retreat ten metres at a penalty, The Dairymen took full advantage of his absence and ran in two quick fire tries. The first of these tries was scored by scrum half Grant Hall and it was followed by the match winning touchdown from winger Richard Johnson. Rumney were unfortunate to have had another try by Mark Addis disallowed but Llanharan steadied their defences and maintained their lead to secure the league points.
Dave Escott, Rugby Secretary Rumney RFC : "To date we have zero points when we should have gained six and we can blame nobody but ourselves. This was a very disappointing performance where we again failed to turn pressure into points. At the end of the day we are at fault for not scoring those points. Captain Andrew Grabham had a very good game and so did Matthew Wood and Neil Coles, in fact the back row generally played well and were the pick of the Rumney players, though I feel mention should be made of Mark Addis' sound performance out of position at full back."

Shaun Lee, Coach Rumney RFC 1st XV : "For the second week running we did not turn pressure into points. We did create opportunities but the finishing was not clinical enough. A game of rugby is about taking the right options, if you take too many wrong ones then you lose the game. They will learn from this. The squad did feel they let themselves down but they will turn the corner and prove to be a good team as they are working very hard for each other and all the hard work will pay dividends. We now look forward to our trip west against Narberth. Man of the Match for Rumney was Neil Coles."
