Steve Ford, Coach Rumney Youth : "We brought in two young players today, outside half Luke Ford and prop Joe Mills and they both had excellent games. St. Albans were much bigger and had the upper hand in the first twenty minutes but we weathered the storm and Luke went over for the try. The second half was all defence and the boys were superb in the way they kept the opposition out. It may not have been much of a spectacle but we ground out a good win. The Man of the Match was Ryan Fenton."

Steve Ford, Coach Rumney Youth : "In my four years with Rumney youth, this Pontypool side is the best I have seen playing here, they were two stone a man heavier and very well drilled. The boys stuck at it and gave them a good game, we played very well and held them in the scrums but we struggled in the lineout. Pontypool dominated because they were able to get so much possession but our boys tackled their hearts out. Rumney's Man of the Match was Barry Phillips."

Martin Perks, Rumney RFC : "We started well playing into a strong wind and taking a 6 - 0 lead. Things looked good for the first twenty five minutes but then, in the final minutes of the first half we let Beddau in for two soft tries. In the second half, with the strong wind behind us, we went to sleep and they scored two good tries and although we battled well we were always playing catch up. Liam Facey was Rumney's Man of the Match."

It was very unfortunate that Lincoln Plummer suffered a broken ankle and we all wish him a speedy recovery. Joey Offside was the Man of the Match."
