Ian Riby, Rumney RFC : "A younger and fitter Rumney side was disrupted by the need of the 1st XV to call on four players but by half time we were 21-10 up and in the second half were able to give the bigger, heavier Fairwater pack the run around. Basically, once we moved the ball we were by far the better side. Fairwater put pressure on us in the scrums but we pulled our finger out and we went away from them. Paul Bull and Anthony Leach went well in the back row, and Rhys Williams had an excellent game, he dogged it out and was the Man of the Match."
Scorers for Rumney : D.Turner try, J.Theophanides try, L.Barnett try
Ian Riby, Rumney RFC : "The game was decided by a last minute try, against the run of play, after a really excellent performance. We were winning by three tries to nil at half time but the Old Boys woke up at the end and stole it. It was a first class all round effort with brilliant performances from Josh Theophanides, Chris Hughes and Geraint Cole, and Shaun Hill geed them up and was made the Man of the Match."
Scorers for Rumney : T.Gee try, A.Jones try
Man of the Match : J.Braine
Rob Regan, Rumney RFC : "We went out with five or six youth players and this young side tried for eighty minutes. They never gave up and you couldn't ask for any more."
Scorers for Rumney : M.Feneck try, R.Fenton try, R.Sutton try, P.Bull try, T.Gee try, D.Clark conversion and drop goal
Jim O'Brien, Rumney RFC : "A very disjointed display but Rumney always looked like they could win the game when they wanted to. Rumney Athletic players need to train regulalry. The Man of the Match was Carl Barker."
Scorers for Rumney : L.Abdul try, G.Niblett try, T.Gee try, C.Barker 2 tries, P.Bull try, M.Milsom conversion
Peter McCardle, Rumney RFC : "We
had great strength in the back row and although things were pretty
even in the scrummages, Carl Barker carved out a lot of gaps and
kept us going forward. If the backs' handling had been better
we would have scored more tries. The Man of the Match was Paul
Bull."
Scorer for Rumney : S.Hill 2 tries
Peter Coles, Rumney RFC : "Rumney Athletic lost to Glamorgan Wanderers by 18 - 10. A very committed performance by the Athletic who battled for eighty minutes and were unlucky not to sneak a last minute try. This team will improve as a unit when they collectively train together and put a game plan in place. They will improve as the season progesses, with some much needed experience coming back on board. The Athletic will be training on Thursday and will have runout prior to the Wales v England game at 2 o'clock at the club. Man of the Match was Terry Gee."
Paul Whitcombe, Rumney RFC : "Rumney lost to a fast and well organised Wanderers team and although our forwards played well, they blasted us in the end. When we did have the ball we did not have the pace or guile to win. Matthew Curl had a very good game and Carl Barker was outstanding, winning the Man of the Match award."
Ian Riby, Rumney RFC : "Rumney were completely disjointed and disorganised and although we didn't look like scoring we never gave up. Dave Turner played well at full back and veteran No8 Shaun Hill was Man of the Match."

Scorers for Rumney : B.Phillips try, D.Yates try, L.Barnett 2 conversions and penalty
Jim O'Brien, Rumney RFC : "Llanrumney outplayed us, Rumney showed no direction and a complete lack of fitness. Paddy O'Neill played well at scrum half, Joey Offside tried hard and youngsters Barry Phillips and Josh Theophanides put in promising displays."
Ian Riby, Rumney RFC : "The old heads in the Caerau pack got the upper hand in this game and following a movement down the wing, their forwards controlled play and touched down for the only try. The Rumney backs were good but had very little possession. Scrum half Ben Morris kept Rumney moving forward and was the Man of the Match."

Scorers for Rumney : P.Nash 3 tries, J.Offside try, M.Kearle try, D.Clements 2 tries, D.Clark try and 3 conversions, N.Ritchie try, G.Kemble conversion

Scorers for Rumney : I.McIntyre 2 tries, D.Clark penalty and 2 conversions
Rumney Man of the Match : Wayne Feneck
Ian Riby, Rumney RFC : "Caerau were 6 - 3 up on penalties by half time, making use of the wind and their heavier, more experienced pack. Their forwards starved us of possession and we didn't have the space to run it. When Ian McIntyre came on towards the end of the game he scored two excellent tries and Wayne Feneck made some lovely runs, taking on the opposition and making yards of ground. Silly knock ons and our failure to retain possession meant that we gave away a lot of ball and in the end it cost us the game."

Rumney Man of the Match : M.Kearle
Ian Riby, Rumney RFC : "This was very similar to last week's game, we could have scored more tries if it had not been for wrong decisions. There were so many missed passes and incorrect decisions in the first half that Clwb Rygbi came back into it and we seemed to go to sleep. It was a good game to watch, Matthew Kearle was always looking for openings and covering back strongly in defence. Ben Morris was continually probing and could also have been Man of the Match, Ben kept us going forward all the time encouraging a very good, young pack."

Ian Riby, Rumney RFC : "Rumney's backs were much too quick for the Old Boys and played good open rugby creating some lovely passing movements. A good solid performance from the forwards allowed the backs to enjoy a steady supply of quality possession and gave them plenty of space. Man of the Match Ryan Fenton was everywhere on the pitch, Matthew Kearle made exciting breaks in the centre and Terry Gee was in excellent form in the second row."

Scorers for Rumney Athletic : P.O'Neill try, L.Maqueline try, P.Curtant try, D.Clark penalty and 2 conversions
Rumney Man of the Match : Ryan Fenton

Paul Whitcombe, Rumney RFC : "A typical local derby against Caerau. They pushed us and dominated in the scrums but in the loose we scored almost every time we had the ball. If we hadn't dropped so many passes we would have scored more tries. Ben Morris made a vast difference when he came on, he was brilliant, Danny Clark had a good game and Ryan Fenton's tackling was superb."
