Jim O'Brien Rumney RFC: "It's a shame to see the CIACs receiving such a heavy defeat considering their wonderful record over the years . Full credit to the people who are keeping rugby going in that part of Cardiff. The Rumney side was too strong for the current CIAC line up".

Scorers for Rumney : Edwin Ford 3 tries, Mark Painter try and 2 conversions, Martin Perks try, Keith Franklin try, Mark Oliver try.

Jim O'Brien, Rumney RFC : "This was a tough encounter and the difference was that Rumney were able to score against the wind. It was the sort of game we needed before our Ninian Stuart semi-final against Canton on Wednesday 5th April. Man of the Match - Martin Perks".

too strong for Canton and we scored more points against the wind
than when we were playing with it. Canton however never gave up.
Man of the Match - Mark Oliver".

Llandaff 2nd XV 17 Rumney 3rd XV 21
Scorers for Rumney : E.Ford try, M.Oliver try, M.Deacon try and three conversions

Scorers for Rumney : Mike Phillips 2 tries, Edwin Ford try, Martin Perks try, Des Matthews try, Mike Deacon 2 penalties and 2 conversions.
Jim O'Brien, Rumney RFC : "It was a superb game under difficult conditions. The result seems to indicate a big win for Rumney but it was a lot closer than the score suggests. Rumney's superiority was only confirmed by two late tries - one from Des Matthews and an audacious one from Edwin Ford which saw off a strong and talented Llanishen side".
Scorers for Rumney : Mark Painter try and 1 penalty and 1 conversion, Paul Hutchings try, Martin Perks try, Jason Wheeler 2 tries, Barry Chambers try, Wayne Collier try, Mike Deacon 1 penalty and 1 conversion

It was a flowing game which suited us, we used twenty one players and made seven changes from last week. Man of the match - Andy Jones".
Martin Perks,
Rumney RFC : "Martin Perks was unbelievably outstanding
!"
