Bonymaen won this hard fought contest at Riverside Park. At the heart of their victory was scrum half Daniel Hawkins. Winger Paul John got Bonymaen's first try but Phil Ford made an immediate reply for Rumney by following up an accurate kick from Simon Davies and touching down for the try while the Bonymaen defence looked on. Gareth Jones kicked a penalty for the visitors, then Jones put winger Nick Bonnan over for a try in the corner. Rumney, unbeaten since late September, hammered away at the Bonymaen line but only managed one futher try from Mike Peard. A second penalty from Jones in the 78th minute sealed victory for Bonymaen.
