In a brilliant display of
attacking, running rugby, in often atrocious conditions, Rumney
ran in eight tries. Scores came from lock Michael Peard (2 tries),
No.8 Ben Atkins (2 tries), flanker Simon Greedy (2 tries), centre
Max Ryce (1 try) and hooker Dean Simonds (1 try). Outside half
Simon Davies kicked five conversions. For Llandovery winger Jason
Evans, centre Ioan Davies and centre Hefin Morgan crossed for
tries and centre Gary Davies added a conversion.
Steve Ford, Coach Rumney RFC : "It was a massive improvement
on last week but there's still a lot to do. It was nice to see
Michael Peard back after injury. We won't get carried away but
it was a very pleasing result. We have improved and we're going
to keep on improving !".
Alfie Savery, Rumney RFC : "A strong performance from
the pack with Michael Peard making a powerful comeback. Glenn
George led well. We were a bit disjointed in the second half but
all in all I'm very pleased with the result".
